08/23/2010 - East Rutherford, NJ (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning plans to return to game action Saturday at Baltimore after missing last week's preseason contest against Pittsburgh due to a cut on his forehead.
Manning needed 12 stitches to close a gash he sustained in a preseason game against the Jets earlier this month. He was back at practice Monday.
"It's no fun sitting out in our practices last week," he said. "Last week was a short week and I didn't miss too much. I like being out there for the games, and it's preseason so just trying to be smart and get it to healed up now where you have a little time so you don't have to keep dealing with it week after week. "
The Giants held Manning out of last week's game because the stitches impaired the QB's ability to wear his helmet. Manning was wearing a Giants baseball cap on Monday.
